    Carl E. Moore was chosen by the Cooper-Young Community Association to create a mural for the railroad overpass at Barksdale and McLean. Work began in April and is almost complete!

    Annabelle Meacham has been selected as the River Arts Fest poster artist for 2013. The new poster was unveiled during South Main’s Trolley Night Friday, May 31 and will be available at the gallery for purchase.

    Melissa Dunn recently completed a Women’s Foundation Legends Award commission for one of  the 2013 honorees, Dr. Rosie Bingham.

    Melissa has also been named to the new ArtsMemphis Artist Advisory Panel!

  • March News

    Pamela Hassler has been honored with an exhibition at the Morton Museum of Collierville History, Collierville, TN.  The exhibiton features both sketches and oil paintings from her recent Wetlands Series and continues through April.

    Matthew Hasty’s Delta Moon is featured on the cover of The University of Memphis’ brochure for the upcoming conterence The Delta: Everything Southern at the Michael Rose theatre Friday, June 7.


    Gallery artists Brantley Ellzey, Chuck Johnson, Cathy Lancaster and Annabelle Meacham have paintings selected for the Methodist Healthcare collection this month!

  • February News

    Annabelle Meacham was interviewed this week by Kacky Walton for WKNO’s Checking with the Arts segment.  Meacham’s exhibition From Dreamtime to This Time opens this evening, Feb 1, 6-8 pm.

    Eli Gold’s figurative bronze/found object sculptures will be on display in Caseworks at the Art Museum of the University of Memphis Feb 1- March 16.

    Margaret Munz-Losch’s  painting Black Cat was juried into the Dixon Gallery’s exhibit Present Tense, Feb 2-April 16.  This week’s Memphis Flyer choose this stunning image for the cover!


    Additional gallery artists included in Present Tense are Melissa Dunn, Eli Gold, Chuck Johnson, Richard Knowles, Jeri Ledbetter, Ian Lemmonds and Carl Moore.

  • 2012 Year End Honors

    Two exhibitions at L Ross Gallery were listed in the Top Ten shows of 2012 by both Fredric Koeppel, Commercial Appeal, Dec 28, 2012 and Dwayne Butcher, Memphis Flyer, Dec 27- Jan2, 2013!

    Honored were the June exhibition of Carl Moore and Melissa Dunn, “I Can See Your House From the Highway” and November’s “Beauty and the Beast” by Margaret Munz-Losch.

    These accomplished artists will also be apart of the Dixon Gallery and Gardens’ upcoming show “Present Tense: The Art of Memphis from 2001 – Now”, Feb 3- April 14, celebrating the strength and diversity of the contemporary art scene in Memphis.  Additional gallery artists included in the Dixon exhibition are Eli Gold, Chuck Johnson, the estate of Richard Knowles, Jeri Ledbetter and Ian Lemmonds.

  • Holiday Hours

    L Ross Gallery will be open today and tomorrow at regular hours. We will also be open on Monday, December 24 from 10 am – 2pm for anyone looking for a last minute gift! The gallery will be closed Tuesday, December 25 and Wednesday, December 26. Regular hours will resume Thursday.

    Changes include a catalog of upcoming and past exhibitions as well as photos of our (beautiful!) artists. This new formatting will allow iPhone and iPad users to easily access the website.

    “What’s New” will be for exactly that… to let you know as new art arrives at the gallery, honors our artists have received as well as upcoming events.
