Bio

Jeanne Seagle is a painter and designer living in Memphis. Jeanne is well known as the creator of the witty little drawings that accompany the “News of the Weird” feature in The Memphis Flyer. One of her paintings was recently purchased by the City of Memphis to hang in City Hall.  She has shown her paintings in many gallery and museum shows, including The Delta Show at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, The Best of Tennessee at the Tennessee State Museum, and  solo shows at the Delta Cultural Center in Helena, Arkansas, and the Alumni Gallery at the Memphis College of Art. Her drawing, “Fishcamp Road”, won Best in Show at the 2013 Memphis Germantown Art League National Juried Exhibition.

Other recent work includes the design of “I Can Fly”, the centerpiece mosaic sculpture at LeBonheur Hospital, and “Genome Kids,” a sculpture commemorating St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Pediatric Cancer Genome Project. She also spent time there as an artist-in-residence.
