Bio

Why do I carve stone?

In balancing the physical act of carving with wide open intuition, a time and space are created where the stone and I merge. The stone feels fluid in my hands, willing to take any form, as matter is transformed.

And, I’m having so much fun!

Next, the step-by-step hand polishing of the surface is a time to hone and complete this new creation, releasing the sculpture to its own life.

Now the sculpture has a presence of its own, awaiting the viewer’s response. It is my hope that this encounter is one that moves the viewer in some meaningful way.
